Before all the travellers were blacklisted, we had the joy of welcoming Florian and Sabrina for the weekend at home.  The word "home" seems strange to us who change it every 3 years ...
3 years is also the length of time it takes Florian, who left Brittany first on his round-the-world trip. His project: to raise awareness of the problem of waste.  He gets informed, he meets people, he collects.  His symbolic goal is to collect a ton of waste but after a year and a half, he has already collected 836kg, he explains. In short, he goes too fast! Like many other things, but here we'll salute the feat instead.
Florian arrived with Sabrina, his girlfriend (and his nurse) who joined him for a long drive.
They arrived home on a rainy day.  At home, it's a day of celebration (considering the amount of water we receive per year) but that was not very important for us...
We went for a walk in Muir Woods in the cathedrals of sequoia gigantea.


After 2 nights and 2 days together, they pack up their stuff and I drive them to Belmont (CA). They stack their saddlebags on their bikes which instantly goes from 15kg to 51kg.  They will stay a few days in Silicon Valley where unfortunately COVID19 will want all the planned activities to be cancelled.  The trip promises to be a little more complex, next week is the takeoff, in principle, to Japan. Hydrogen fuel cartridge .. let's power bikes ?

As "green" hydrogen production and storage has become an EU green deal central strategic axis, more and more innovative solutions emerge from academic and industrial players. Early this month, the Fraunhofer institute published an article presenting a prototype of what we can call "hydrogen power paste": hydrogen power paste (source : Fraunhofer institute) The principle behind is to create a magnesium hydride paste (whereas a high quantity of hydrogen is stored). When water is added to the mix, hydrogen gas is produced and can be used in a fuel cell to create electricity.  In the previously published article describing hydrogen fuel principles and applications, we mentioned that this H2 energy source was particularly suited for heavy transportation such as trains, trucks, or boats.
